Are devices really unlimited?

Yes, on every paid plan. Mailcycle is built to put private email on every device you own, so devices are not billed. A Worker is not a paid seat. You can pair two thousand phones on the $15 plan.

What am I paying for?

Email addresses, and the management and automation around them. Each address receives mail and holds keys, and we provision and run it. A device that connects to one costs nothing extra.

Can I pair more devices than I have email addresses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Two thousand Workers sharing 250 email addresses on Operator is a normal setup. Addresses move between devices whenever you want, and you decide which devices receive which addresses. If you need more addresses than your plan holds, upgrade.

Why does the free tier allow only one device?

Pairing and device management cost money to run, and an uncapped free tier could run a whole fleet indefinitely. One device is enough to try the product. Any paid plan removes the cap.

Which email addresses count toward my plan?

Accepted Answer

Every address your account creates, whether or not it is currently assigned to a device. Unassigning an address does not free its place; deleting it does, immediately. Deleted addresses are retired and never reissued to anyone.

What does Scale add over Operator?

Accepted Answer

For $19 a month instead of $15: four times the email addresses and messages, ten of your own domains, addresses you name yourself, full API access and webhooks when they ship, and priority support. If you are weighing Operator, Scale is usually the better fit.

Is there a free tier?

Accepted Answer

Yes: three email addresses, one device and 3,000 messages a month. It has no time limit and needs no card, email address, name or password. Before you upgrade: paying by card, or through the App Store or Google Play, links a real identity to your account id in that provider's systems. Paying in cryptocurrency usually does not. The account stays anonymous to us either way.

What happens if I exceed my plan?

Creating an email address beyond your plan's limit is refused, with a message saying why. Each plan also includes a message allowance: 3,000 a month on Free, 50,000 on Personal, 500,000 on Operator, 2,000,000 on Scale and 20,000,000 on Fleet, counted in fixed 30-day periods. Once it is used, new mail is refused until the next period starts, and senders are told so. Single messages over 25MB are refused on every plan. Pairing a device is refused only on Free, which pairs one.

How do I pay?

On the web, by card through Polar, which bills monthly as merchant of record and adds sales tax or VAT where it applies, or in crypto through NOWPayments. Card checkout asks for an email address for the receipt; we never see it. Once the iOS and Android apps reach the stores, Apple or Google will bill the subscription instead, and card and crypto will not be offered there.

Can I pay in advance?

Yes, in cryptocurrency. Top up your account balance by any amount from $5 to $2,000, and your plan takes its monthly price from that balance each month until it runs out, with a reminder when it is nearly gone. It saves paying an invoice every month. A balance buys Mailcycle plans and nothing else: it cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged, and it goes with the account if you delete it.

How do I cancel?

Move to Free in Plans & Billing, or cancel in Polar's customer portal. Either way the plan runs to the end of the month you paid for, and nothing more is charged. Crypto payments cover one month and are not renewed. If you subscribed in the iOS or Android app, cancel in the App Store or Google Play. A paid plan that is not renewed moves to Free three days after its month ends. Your addresses and devices stay, but creating more past Free's limits is refused.

Can I pay for a plan today?

Yes. Card through Polar and crypto through NOWPayments are both live on the web. In-app purchase is built but waits on the iOS and Android apps reaching the stores. Every account still starts on Free, and nothing is charged until you choose a paid plan.
