Acceptable Use Policy

1. The short version

Use Mailcycle to receive mail you are entitled to receive, and send mail you are entitled to send, on devices you control, for purposes that are lawful where you and your users are. Do not use it to be someone else, to evade someone else's rules at scale, or to harm anyone.

The detailed list below is illustrative, not exhaustive. Conduct that is obviously abusive is not permitted simply because it is not itemised here.

2. Prohibited uses

You must not use Mailcycle to:

Break the law

• Commit or facilitate fraud, phishing, identity theft, money laundering or extortion.
• Receive, store or distribute child sexual abuse material. We report this to the relevant authorities without notice.
• Handle content that infringes intellectual property rights, or violate export controls or sanctions.
• Stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or facilitate doing so.

Abuse the mail ecosystem

• Operate as a drop for spam campaigns, or receive bounce and complaint traffic for bulk mail you send elsewhere in violation of anti-spam law.
• Intentionally receive mail intended for someone else, including by claiming an address you have reason to believe is associated with another person.
• Send spam or unsolicited bulk mail through the Service, or send mail that misrepresents who it is from.
• Harvest, sell or publish email addresses obtained through the Service.
• Distribute malware, ransomware or exploit code through content stored in the Service.

Impersonate

• Represent yourself as a person, company or organisation you are not.
• Configure addresses or devices intended to deceive recipients about who they are dealing with.

3. Account creation and fraud

Mailcycle is for device testing, QA automation and managing fleets of hardware that each need their own address.

It is not for mass-registering accounts on other services in violation of their terms, defeating one-account-per-person limits, farming referral or promotional credit, or manufacturing fake reviews, engagement or votes.

4. Technical limits

You must not:

• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas or plan limits.
• Automate the app in place of the API in order to evade limits.
• Place a disproportionate load on the Service, or interfere with other customers' use of it.
• Probe, scan or penetration-test the Service outside our disclosure policy.
• Resell Mailcycle email addresses as a standalone product without a written agreement with us.
• Share one account's credentials across separate organisations to avoid paying for each.

5. Your responsibility

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including the actions of devices you have paired and anyone you share your recovery phrase with. If you provide Mailcycle email addresses to your own users, you are responsible for their compliance with this policy and for having terms with them that permit it.

6. Enforcement

Where we find a violation, our response is proportionate to it. We may:

• Contact you and ask you to fix it.
• Lower the account's rate limits or cap its retention.
• Suspend individual email addresses.
• Suspend the account.
• Terminate the account under section 12 of the Terms.
• Report the matter to law enforcement where the law requires it or the harm warrants it.

We will notify you and give you a chance to respond wherever it is lawful and safe to do so. For active abuse, an immediate threat to the Service or others, or content we are obliged to report, we may act first and notify afterwards.

If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, write to hello@mailcycle.email. A person will review it.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe a Mailcycle address or account is being used in violation of this policy, report it to hello@mailcycle.email. Include the address involved, what happened and any headers you have. We investigate every report and acknowledge within two business days.
