1. The short version
- Your first plan payment is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days and have not used anything the plan adds.
- Your account balance is not refundable and cannot be withdrawn.
- Renewals and later payments are not refunded.
- Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are refunded by Apple or Google, not by us.
- Where consumer law gives you more, you get what the law gives you (section 5).
The free tier has no time limit, so you can try Mailcycle before paying anything.
2. Your first plan payment
The first time your account pays for a paid plan on the website, by card or cryptocurrency, we refund that payment in full if you ask within 14 days of making it and have not used anything the plan adds over the free tier. That means you have not:
- held more email addresses or paired more devices than the free tier allows,
- taken an address on a domain the free tier does not offer, or chosen your own address,
- given one device more than one address,
- created an API key, added a custom domain or set up an AI agent, or
- sent mail from a device, an API key or an AI agent.
Deleting something before you ask does not change this. We keep a record of when each of these was last used, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Once it is refunded, the plan ends and the account moves to the free tier.
This applies once per account. We may refuse it where accounts are opened to collect refunds repeatedly.
3. Account balance
Money paid into your account balance buys Mailcycle plans and nothing else. It is not refundable, it cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged, and it is deleted with your account. What you pay in keeps paying for your plan each month until it runs out. The only exception is where the law requires a refund, so check the amount before you pay.
4. Renewals and later payments
We do not refund:
- A renewal, whether charged to a card or paid from your balance.
- A later payment for a plan, including paying again to extend it.
- A move from one paid plan to another.
- The unused part of a month after you cancel or downgrade.
To avoid a renewal, cancel before your renewal date. You keep your plan until the end of the month you paid for.
If we fail to provide the Service with reasonable skill and care, we will put it right, and that can include a refund for the time affected. Enterprise payments are refunded as set out in the order form.
5. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have 14 days from your first plan payment to cancel. Paying for a plan is your request that it starts straight away. If you cancel within those 14 days after using the plan, we refund the payment less the days up to your cancellation, and the plan ends. If you have not used it, section 2 applies and you get the whole payment back.
The right to cancel does not apply to renewals, or to accounts used for business. Nothing in this policy takes away any other right you have under consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6. Card payments
Card payments on the website are sold by Polar as merchant of record. A refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Polar. Your bank decides how long it takes to appear, usually up to 10 business days.
7. Cryptocurrency
A cryptocurrency payment cannot be reversed by the network, so there is no chargeback. Where a refund is due under this policy, we send it through NOWPayments, in the currency you paid with, to a wallet address you give us. We refund the US dollar amount you paid, converted at the rate on the day we send it, less the network fee.
If you send less than the amount asked for, nothing is applied to your account. You can send the difference, or ask for what you sent back on the same terms.
Check the address before you send it to us. A refund sent to the address you gave cannot be recovered if the address was wrong.
8. App Store and Google Play
A plan bought in the iOS or Android app is sold and billed by Apple or Google, and only they can refund it, under their own policies. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or Google from your Google Play order history. When they refund a purchase, they tell us and we record it against your account, and the plan that purchase paid for ends.
9. Chargebacks
Please ask us before you dispute a card payment with your bank. A refund under this policy is quicker than a dispute.
When a payment is charged back, we record it against the account, mark the account past due and notify you. We may suspend the account while the dispute is open, as set out in section 11 of the Terms.
10. How to ask
Ask from Support in the app, or email hello@mailcycle.email. Tell us the date and amount of the payment, and the order number from your Polar receipt or the NOWPayments payment id if you have it. We never need your recovery phrase and will never ask for it.
We aim to reply within one business day.
