Release date to be announced

The first public release.

Added

  • Recovery-phrase accounts: twelve words generated on the device, with no email address, name or password anywhere in the system. An optional passphrase can be added on top of the words.
  • Sign-in by challenge-response against a public key, so nothing that opens an account crosses the wire.
  • Inbound mail sealed to a per-address key as soon as it arrives, with attachments sealed and stored separately.
  • Address labels, device names, tags and notes encrypted on the device.
  • Tracker stripping on the device, with a per-message list of what was blocked and which host wanted it.
  • Per-address retention from 1 to 90 days, 7 by default, enforced by an hourly server-side deletion sweep.
  • Sending from addresses the account owns, over the API.
  • Account deletion that erases the account's addresses, devices, mail and attachments immediately, with no grace period. Deleted addresses are never reissued.
  • Device pairing by QR code or 8-digit code, with camera scanning on iOS, Android and desktop webcams.
  • Email address creation, assignment and deletion, with every address counted toward the plan limit.
  • Device list with search, status and tag filters, sorting and bulk actions.
  • Push notifications in the iOS and Android apps for new mail, new sign-ins, paired and offline devices, and billing, with generic text only.
  • A list of signed-in sessions, with sign-out for one or all of them.
  • Your own domains on Scale (10) and Fleet (50), verified with a TXT record, with 7 days of continued receiving after moving to a plan without them.
  • Light and dark themes following the system preference.
  • Free, Personal, Operator, Scale, Fleet and Enterprise plans, from three email addresses to ten thousand, each with a monthly message allowance.

Known limitations

  • Devices cannot send mail. Only the account can, over the API.
  • Pairing and inbox updates poll every few seconds. There is no real-time channel yet.
  • Attachments over 20MB are listed but not stored.
  • API keys, webhooks and a public event stream are planned, not built.
  • Apple and Google in-app purchases are built but not available, because the apps are not in the stores yet. Card through Polar and crypto through NOWPayments are live on the web.
  • The iOS and Android apps are not yet in the App Store or Google Play.
